Are the classes safe?
Absolutely! At River City Warriors, your safety is our utmost priority. We begin each session with a warm-up to prevent injuries. Our well-trained instructors oversee all techniques and exercises, ensuring they’re performed correctly. Equipment is regularly maintained and all physical contact, such as sparring, is strictly supervised. Although martial arts, like any sport, carries some risk, our safety measures and guidelines are in place to minimize this risk effectively.
Do you have women-only classes?
Yes, River City Warriors offers women-only classes. These classes are designed with the aim of creating a comfortable, empowering environment for women to learn and practice martial arts. Please check our schedule or contact us directly for the most current times and availability of these classes.
What kind of equipment do I need?
As a student at River City Warriors, the equipment you’ll need varies depending on the discipline you’re studying. For all classes, we recommend comfortable, breathable workout attire. For Kali, you’ll need rattan sticks and training knives. For Jeet Kune Do and Muay Thai, boxing gloves, hand wraps, and shin guards are recommended. For Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a Gi (the uniform) is typically used. Initially, we can lend equipment, but as you progress, having your own is beneficial. Please consult with your instructor for specific equipment requirements and recommendations.
What’s your cancellation policy?
At River City Warriors, we understand that sometimes plans change. If you need to cancel a class, we ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance so we can free up the spot for another student. For membership cancellations, we generally require a 30-day notice. For specifics on your particular situation or for more details, please refer to the terms and conditions outlined in your membership agreement or contact our office directly.

How often should I attend classes?
The frequency of your attendance at River City Warriors largely depends on your personal goals, availability, and fitness level. If you’re a beginner, we recommend starting with two to three classes per week to allow your body to adapt to the new form of exercise. As your fitness level improves, you may wish to increase the frequency. For those training for competitions or advanced levels, four to six classes per week might be more appropriate. It’s important to remember that consistency is key in martial arts training, and regular practice will yield the best results.
